Saphronia Young
Law Practice
Saphronia R. Young has been licensed to practice for 22 years. Her background includes extensive litigation and trial experience, including probate and estate matters. She was first licensed to practice law in Missouri and Kansas, and worked at a boutique law firm representing sureties. Her first jury trials were for litigation involving probate and guardianship cases there. She successfully defended a guardian from claims of waste of estate assets in a multi-party and multi-day jury trial, successfully defended the public guardian of a small northern Missouri county in numerous jury trials, represented sureties in several matters involving claims against fiduciary bonds, including the successful trial and appellate matter on behalf of the surety, State Farm, in a case styled King v. Jones, No. 54233, (Mo.Ct.App. W.D. 1998). After moving to Washington state, she continued her litigation practice, including successful representation of the Fletcher brothers in resisting claims of undue influence and duress in the probate litigation styled Bale v. Allison & Fletcher, 294 P.3d 789 (2013).
Her other areas of focus are employment construction and mediation. She has practiced in both State and Federal Court. She is certified by the American Arbitration Association for mediation of construction disputes, and by the King County Inter-Local Conflict Resolution Group in mediation of labor and employment disputes. She taught annual seminars for the King County Bar Association on wage claims and has authored several articles on the same subject.
